Idea research · Shopify apps & WordPress plugins
What do people hate about your competitor?
Pick a software product sold on the Shopify App Store (an app that stores install, like Klaviyo or Judge.me) or a WordPress plugin. Its recent 1–2 star reviews get grouped into the complaints that keep coming up, with real quotes and whether each one is rising. It doesn't read reviews of shops or websites themselves. Add up to 3 competitors: a complaint that's big for all of them is a gap nobody is filling.
Try:
Where the reviews come from
- App Store: paste an app's link to try it. Apple's public review feed is mostly empty in 2026, so results are best effort.
- Shopify App Store: the newest 1 and 2 star reviews (up to about 120).
- WordPress.org plugins: the latest 1 and 2 star reviews.
- G2, Capterra and Trustpilot don't allow automated access, so they aren't included.
How complaints are grouped
With plain keyword rules, not AI: “refund” or “can't cancel” goes to Cancelling, “crash” or “stopped working” to Bugs, and so on. A review can land in more than one group. Every percentage links back to quotes you can read, so you can check the grouping yourself.
